The Commission of Correction is a three member deliberative body, which meets monthly to discuss variances, maximum facility capacities, proposed changes in regulations, mortality investigations, and other matters that may arise. The meetings are broadcast via a webcast once a month. The schedule for each Commission meeting is posted here.
Note: The Commission of Correction does not hire or oversee Correctional
Officers. They are employed either by the New York State Department of
Correctional Services and Community Supervision (DOCCS) or the county in which the local correctional
facility (jail) is located. If you are inquiring about positions for either
state or county correctional departments, please contact DOCCS, or the
county correctional department you are interested in obtaining employment
information from, directly.
